Robert Scrivener
III joined our circus during the fall of 2006. Sure he's a great
guitar slinger, a versatile musician, an emerging performer, and
a singer/songwriter with boundless creativity and curiosity. This
goes with the
territory. What sets Robert apart are the lessons derived from his
biggest influence, his Father, country/jazz Ozarks guitar player
Robert Scrivener II: a humble respect, integrity and appreciation
for the artists who came before him, his contemporary musicians
and the players who participate with him and call Robby friend.
His
influences stretch from Django Reindhart to Buck Owens, Mississippi
John Hurt to Aerosmith, and George Clinton to The Cramps with many
stops along the way. Robert is armed with a well-rounded music education
that started on a classical Takamini acoustic, continued to his
beloved red Stratocaster "Thor", his metal resonator guitar
and growing collection of noise making devices. The product is an
"in your face", raw, Texas, funky blues guitarist with
the taste to play what a song, a band, a show needs. His first years
were spent with his eyes on his guitar. Now Robert is looking up
and entertaining audiences from the Ozarks to Sturgis South Dakota.
As a member of
those horizans will spread considerably...
We're
playing as many "Acoustic Duo" and full band performances
as possible; recording a new CD and plan to continue broadening
the repertoire and audience. Stay tuned to this page for more about
Mr. Scrivener and the entire
circus.
